Pamela Purvis

LPC

Pamela is passionate about helping those persons trying to balance the ever changing demands of life. The pressure of juggling of work and family can be overwhelming to many. Aging parents, increasing work demands, single parenthood, changing family roles and addiction issues are prevalent in many households today. Pamela is determined to help individuals discover healthy solutions and find positive ways to navigate this maze of demands and difficult life transitions while recognizing the anxiety, grief and loss that may accompany these unexpected challenges.

Pamela holds a MS in Counseling Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi and uses a wide range of counseling approaches. Her background as a professional healthcare administrator gives her an inside knowledge of how unanticipated changes of mental and physical health impact not just the person diagnosed, but the entire family unit. She has over 25 years working with various mental health populations. Pamela is passionate about the employees/care providers of healthcare institutions and their personal well-being as well as those caregiver family members trying to juggle various roles and responsibilities.

In her spare time, Pamela enjoys being outside - whether it is sitting on her porch, digging in her flower beds or walking a trail with her dog. Traveling and planning new adventures (great or small) with family and friends makes her most happy. She loves Jesus, discovering great thrift stores, coffee, and all things chocolate.
