Laura is passionate about meeting people where they are. Working with adolescents through Senior adults of all walks of life, she is able to provide practical solutions in relatable ways that challenge them to grow. While therapy can be intimidating for some at first, Laura assists in strengthening insight and offers her support and encouragement along the way!
Laura’s choice to work in this field comes from the belief that we all benefit from having someone listen, understand, and accept exactly where we are and offer the support necessary to improve our quality of life. With the outbreak of COVID-19 she became more concerned for people that were shut-in and not able to seek help in traditional settings. That is when she pursued her specialization for technology-assisted counseling.
Laura was able to pursue her passion to help people along her journey at Henderson State University where she earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Laura describes herself as open-minded and down-to-earth. She will often times use a lot of examples to make her ideas more practical and relatable. She has a great deal of respect for every walk of life and respect everyone’s journey. She truly appreciates the variety of cultures and has a great respect for a person’s right to hold their own values. She is known for creating a safe and welcomed space. Laura provides CBT, solution-focused, reality therapy, REBT, and person-centered strategies as her core methodology.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys reading, writing/journaling, watching various documentaries, camping, and spending time with family.
